In individual conversations with our guests – each of them highly committed, experienced and renowned in their respective fields – we discuss the uncertainties as well as possibilities that the current pandemic has thrown up. We ask our mentors to share their perspectives on the three pivotal aspects of our lives: communication, learning and community.
Prior to embarking upon a long, taxing but invariably exciting journey as a musician, Madan ji taught literature in a Delhi University college. He has written extensively on cultural histories particularly with reference to cinema and later to Sufism. He is an avid translator and interpreter of poetic traditions and texts. He has held workshops for various universities on the theme of Sufism and its impact on cultural formations especially in Punjab.
Madan ji’s scholarship & creativity traverse the mediums of music, literature, poetry and cinema. He has worked as script writer, lyricist and composer on a few prestigious film productions with directors such as Nandan Kudhyadi, Kumar Shahani, Mani Kaul, Anup Singh and Sabiha Sumar.
He has recorded music with the Dreamland Studio, Woodstock, NY and Monarch Studio, Vancouver.
