The Vessel
Intent Brief
There were things I always wanted to do, mediums I wanted to explore, something new I wanted to learn. Life, however, was just passing me by; leaving parts of me behind. It occurred to me that there might be others, who find themselves in a similar predicament: forgetting to do the things that matter to them because they are busy living someone else’s narrative.
There are parts of ourselves that need to be reclaimed. The part that feels something expand when you dance with abandon or just move uninhibited to music, the part that feels something resonate when you hear an enchanting piece of poetry and yearn for more, the part that discovers a new way of seeing when you hold a paintbrush or a charcoal stick, the part that remembers what it was like to dig your hands into clay as a child and watch fantastic creatures magically emerge, the part that wants to momentarily transform into another and feel what it is like to be in the skin of a different character.
The Vessel offers a space to gather the scattered parts of me and you. It is a space to explore the self by engaging with different creative mediums from dance, theatre, music, poetry, literature to drawing, painting, paper art, clay work etc. The idea is to allow ourselves the time and space to explore these different parts of ourselves, so we can nurture and sustain our creative spirit.
In collaboration with artists and creative practitioners, we at The Vessel, endeavour to curate workshops, talks, discussions and exhibitions for enthusiasts, amateurs and first timers. These programs will allow you to explore a new medium or just reconnect with your creative side.
To engage in the activities at The Vessel, you don’t require any prior experience or qualification. All you need is a willingness to explore your inner self and an open mind. It is not just about acquiring skill or training but also about uncovering what lies within, your true resource.
Discover your inner space and the vessel, accept and nurture them.
